For the exeat in March, I decided I wanted to get out of England and explore another country/city. For this weekend trip I messaged my friend, Melinda, who lives in Barcelona to see if I could come and stay. I hadn't seen her in four years and was extremely excited to see her again and this time in her country not mine!

On Saturday we began the day by visiting Segrada Familia and then on to Park Guell, where wondered around in awe for quite some time. The afternoon was spent along Barcelona's shopping strips and then on to a churros and hot chocolate break at Granja la Pallaresa. The hot chocolate was really rich leaving us extremely full as we left. However we did find ourselves buying gelato about an hour later. We continued along through the streets of Barcelona until we hit the sea, where the boats were docked and there was a shopping centre on the sea itself! Then it was on to the beach.

Sunday was more relaxed, we made our way down to Barcelona Cathedral, which conveniently also had a marathon happening right outside. From there I wondered around the streets nearby and stumbled upon the Placa Reial, which was a lovely surprise and an adorable little place. The afternoon was spent walking off a food coma from lunch, we walked along the beach again and then made our way via subway to the Arc de Triomf and this park nearby where we sat and killed time.

Barcelona, you were a blast and I will be back shortly!
